Effective March 1, 2011, the Indiana State Police (ISP) Firearms Division will be accepting gun permit applications on-line only. The application can be accessed at: http://aries.in.gov/Firearms/Permit.aspx. The Evansville Police Department can no longer provide residents with the state application. Once you have submitted the state application on-line, you have the option of being fingerprinted at L-1, 2532 Waterbridge Way, Evansville, IN 812-962-0200.
1. Complete application on-line with the Indiana State Police. (Internet can be accessed at your Public Library)
2. Set up appointment to be fingerprinted at L-1, where you will pay your State of Indiana fee.
3. Bring receipt from L-1 to EPD at Civic Center and complete local application and pay local fees. (If born outside of the United States, bring passport showing you are a US citizen).
